A prominent soprano ASTA KRIKŠČIŪNAITĖ graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, then professional skills she furthered in the United States, where she studied under tutelage of the famous vocal teachers.
The sophisticated palette of the singer's voice - from gentle lyricism to profound dramatism - offers the ability to perform music of various genres: operas, oratorios, large-scale forms with symphony orchestras, chamber music, Lied songs, opuses by contemporary composers.
During her professional career, she has prepared and performed several hundred operatic, large-scale pieces, chamber music, etc. The soloist has created several memorable roles in theaters of Lithuania, Poland, Estonia and Finland.
Under batoon of Y. Menuhin, M. Rostropovich, A. Volmer, J. Axelrod, K. Kord, K. Penderecki, J. Domarkas, S. Sondeckis, M. Pitrenas and others, has performed with the Lithuanian National, Lithuanian State, Polish National, Estonian National, Slovenian Philharmonic, Israeli Symphony, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestras and m.m. She sang in prestigious Lithuanian and foreign concert halls and is invited to perform at European music festivals. The performances of A. Krikščiūnaitė were broadcast by Euroradios, BBC2, Norwegian P2, Estonian and Israeli radio and television stations.
A. Krikščiūnaitė's merits in Lithuanian culture were awarded by the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize. For her contribution to the Estonian and Polish culture, she received the Order of the White Star of Estonia and the Honorary Prize of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Poland.
A. Krikščiūnaitė is professor and Head of the Department of Vocal Performance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
