Irina Bogdanova graduated from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, where she studied under Prof. Carolyn G. James and completed her masters degree at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler" in Berlin under the tuition of Anna Samuil. As a student at the Accademia di Belcanto „Rodolfo Celletti“ in Martina Franca, she worked with Sherman Lowe, Vivica Genaux and Renata Lamanda. In addition she has participated in various masterclasses with renowned singers, such as KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Lisette Oropesa, Saioa Hernandez, Anna Pirozzi and Jennifer Larmore. Since 2023 Ms. Bogdanova has been a member of the ensemble at Teatro Regio Torino where she debuted the roles of Berta (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) in the production of Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau and under the baton of Diego Fasolis, La Sacerdotessa (Aida) in the production of William Friedkin, conducted by Michele Gamba and is currently performing La Duchessa in Thomas Adés’ „Powder Her Face“. Former engagements brought her to the Festival della Valle d’Itria as Contessa di Bandiera in Salieri’s „La scuola dei gelosi“ and as La Dame Bariolee in Prokofiev’s „Le Joueur“ in the production of Sir David Poutney, under the baton of Jan Latham-König. An accomplished concert singer, she has had solo appearances at the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. She has also been featured in recordings broadcasted by NDR, and performed as a soloist at a variety of venues internationally across Italy, Poland, Russia and China. Ms. Bogdanova has been awarded numerous prizes. She won the second prize at the „Concours International Léopold Bellan 2021“ in Paris, the Grand Prix at the „Triomphe de l’Art Competition 2019“ in Brussels; was awarded the „Giovanni-Turcotti“ special prize at „Valsesia Musica International Competition 2019“ in Varallo; first prize at „Gustav-Mahler-Wettbewerb 2018“; first prize at the „Mozart Competition 2018 (Absalom-Stiftung)“ and the first prize at the “Maritim Musikpreis 2017“. Irina Bogdanova is a scholarship recipient of the „Berenberg Kulturstiftung“, the „Giovanni-Omodeo Foundation“, the „Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V.“, the „Deutschlandstipendium“ and the „Johannes-Brahms-Stiftung Hamburg“.
