The young South Korean baritone Daniel (Gyungmin) Gwon is the winner several important competitions, including 1st prize at the Salvatore Licitra Competition 2022, 1st prize at the Competizione dell'Opera 2021 and 2nd prize at the Klaudia Taev Competition 2021. His first roles Malatesta Don Pasquale and Figaro Le nozze di Figaro in student productions in Korea. In 2021 he sang Conte Le nozze di Figaro and in 2022 Marcello La Bohème at the Landestheater Detmold. Daniel Gwon received a bachelor's degree from the Korean National University of Arts and continued with a master's degree in 2020-2022 at the Detmold University of Music. He sang the Beethoven's 9th Symphony in a concert at the Sungnam arts Center and Mendelssohn's Paulus in Detmold. He debuted at the Bel canto aria evening with tenor Laweren Brownlee and other guests at the Müpa Budapest.
